About District 51
Mesa County Valley School District 51 is the largest school district on the Western Slope of Colorado and the 15th largest school district in the state. Our boundaries stretch from the Utah border to Palisade, from the Bookcliff Mountain Range down to Whitewater and Gateway.

Committed to academic excellence, District 51 provides a wide range of educational programs, extracurricular activities, and support services to meet the unique needs of each student.
Each day, nearly 2,800 employees serve 21,000 students in 46 of our schools & programs. Our dedicated team of highly qualified teachers and staff is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal growth and success.
